Occurrence date 2001-09-06
Sampling protocol Floristic Data
Event remarks Open chenopod shrubland. Part of an open and highly dispersed population of mostly Acacia melvillei with some Acacia loderi, many dead trees scattered throughout the large population area. Adult trees 6-12 m high (one A. melvillei at 18 m high in vicinity), possibly senescing, branches ascending, canopies very small on A. loderi trees, no pods evident. Top stratum of the vegetation comprising very scattered trees within open chenopod shrubland of Sclerolaena obliquicuspis, Dissocarpus paradoxus, Nitraria billardierei, Enchylaena tomentosa and Maireana sedifolia shrubs 0.2-1 m high. The open to moderately dense forb and herb layer comprises mostly Sisymbrium erysimoides, Medicago minima, Tetragonia tetragonioides, Maireana trichoptera and other small annual herbs 0.01-0.1 m high. There is a high proportion of bare ground with scalding (40%) and 10% cover of fallen Acacia branches in the site. Evidence of feral animal, native herbivore and rabbit activity resulting in a very degraded und
