Occurrence remarks Sweers Island, South Wellesley Group, Gulf of Carpentaria. 3km NW of resort towards E coast. Grassland of Spinifex with Chamaesyce filipes and Melhania on dunes with some coral rock on surface. Sand pale and coarse. Tufted grass to 70cm. Royal Geographic Society of Queensland organised expedition celebrating the 200th anniversary of the visit by Robert Brown, naturalist, who accompanied Matthew Flinders on his circumnavigation of Australia (1801-1805).
