Event remarks Cloudy mild day with drizzle. Been a while since our last visit but it was nice to be reminded of why we adore this place. We were the only people there except for unseen rangers. Note that we went up Memorial Drive and parked near historic buildings. Lots of bird activity but not to the highest level we have experienced in this zone of SNP. Overall though, it was blissful. Great to see plenty of water about, unlike Sept. Main dam nicely filled, puddles galore and (dry last visit) reedy ponds on ephemeral Longneck Ck have some water (creek line marked on map but often dry - this time though several puddles within its clay banks). Started walk near main buildings, went to dam just down the hill and to Longneck Ck area. Only gripe was hard to see some birds high up against the overcast sky. Saw several kangaroos.
