Occurrence remarks Southern margins of Willum Swamp, eastern area of East Weipa Mine, c. 15km east of Weipa, Cape York. Corymbia clarksoniana woodland in the outer margins of isolated sinkhole swamp. Found in grassy area where it begins to merge into surrounding Eucalyptus tetrodonta forest. Yellow-grey soil, 5 degree slope to north. Gunness land unit 5e. Low spreading grass to 100mm high on alluvial clay soils in outermost area of seasonal inundation. Has smooth stems with inflorescences borne in groups, usually on the ends of stems. Slight reddish tinge at the base of leaf bracts. Relatively common. Ex-RTA Weipa Herbarium Photo at BRI with specimen.
