Occurrence remarks I am entering this record from my notebook. notes. although it was a long time ago, i remember it well. "Spinning swimming on water going round in circles, one way then next way. Black and white bird. slim pointed bill nearly like Marsh Sandpiper but shorter. Bill black and slightly downcurved. Dark mark tapering behind eye on white background. legs black. Rump marked with black fine bands. Crown and nape marked had black markings going down the back of the neck. Wing bar in flight" end of notebook. I believe that this bird was present in the area at the time and so I never sent in a rarity report. I am submitting this now just to keep my records as complete as I can. I have no experience with this species but I have been a birder since I was a child since 1963.
