Locality Eastern shores of Malta Lake on property "Black Gate". Site: Malta 1.
Habitat Lake edge flats, W aspect, minor slope. With Eucalyptus largiflorens, Muehlenbeckia horrida, Marsilea drummondii, Goodenia heteromera, Asteraceae spp., Isolepis australiensis, Eragrostis spp., Sporobolus mitchellii. Grey brown clays (dry and powdery). Most 'natural' lake seen in this system. No dead trees in lake. Very gentle slope into water. Most of the black box has been inundated recently and now in various stages of drying out. Quadrat 20 m from current water's edge, still green but just starting to shrivel stage, very few weeds. Shrivelled Nardoo extends for another 40 m upslope. All black box mature (1 seedling seen). Grazing sheep and goannas observed. [See quadrat data sheet attached.]
