Occurrence remarks Herb to 1.1 m high. Plants more common in disturbed areas but also scattered though undisturbed open forest. Stems with 2-fid hooked hairs. Leaves dark green above, slightly paler below. Involucral bracts with simple spines. Florets yellow, all ligulate. Cypselas red-brown with prominent transverse ridges
