Occurrence remarks Cartrut shell without ruts. I think this is an adaption to high surf zone which this location certainly is.The cartrut shell and the ribbed winkle were firmly locked together. Don't know what the interation is but it looked like the cartrut shell was preying on the ribbed winkle.
