Occurrence remarks C. 8.5km due SSE of Mt Donnybrook, beside access road, within Saint Albans Station. Upperslope of brown stoney loams and clays, becoming cracked and hard-setting, and forming prominent gilgai depressions in some areas. Soils derived from Lower Carboniferous feldspathic sandstones. Mid-high open forest of Acacia harpophylla and Eucalyptus cambageana with occasional shrubs of Eremophila mitchellii and Carissa ovata, with a lower grassy groundlayer of Aristida spp., and Enteropogon spp. Gilgai areas dominated by wetland species including Elytrophorus spicatus and Ammannia multiflora. Erect, apparently annual or seasonal grass to 40cm tall, but highly variable. Spikelets compact, greenish. Height and appearance variable, across gilgai habitat, ranging from 5-40cm in height. Common in wetter clays within Acacia harpophylla communities at this locality.
