Occurrence remarks [Involucral bracts 2 only (described as 4 to 6] [This is identical with Leucasmia chermsideana, but the genus Leucosmia should be united with Phaleria, as is done in Engle's Naturl. Pflanzen. familium. We drew attention (Proc. Linn. Soc. xxxvii, 249. 1912) to the fact that the Phaleria from Brushy Mountains has only 2 involucral bracts, while P. newmanii is described as having 4 to 6 involucral bracts. Bailey's Leucosmia has also 2 involucral bracts and agrees in every respect so well with these specimens, that the identity can hardly be doubted, though we have no flowers. E. Betche 11 Feb 1913]
