Locality Mbeambea River catchment, track along ridge from Valevahalo camp to Havihila ('Havea') campsite.
Habitat Simple notophyll forest 10 to 12 m tall with even canopy on level ridge running east-west; Dicksonia sciurus, Schefflera, Rhododendron in subcanopy and shrub layers; ground layer with Hymenophyllum, Trichomanes, Ophioglossum pendulum, Nephrolepis, Polypodiaceae, Dianella, Dicranopteris, and Blechnum nesophyllum. Epiphytes abundant, including Dendrobium spp. (incl. D. mohlianum), Bulbophyllum spp., (incl. B. ebulbon, B. membranaceum), Ceratostylis spp., Coelogyne, Oberonia; ferns include Davalia, Elaphoglossum; ant plants and Rhododendrons also epiphytic.
