Field notes Rhizomatous herb to 1.1 m high. Leaves grey-green, spirally arranged around the stem. Flowers with 5 grey-green sepals and a butter yellow corolla. Corolla spur about 10 mm long. Last years seed black and in some old pods.

Desr., Hypochaeris radicata L., Petrorhagia nanteuilii (Burnat) P.W.Ball & Heywood, Acetosella vulgaris Fourr., Themeda australis (R.Br.) Stapf, Anchusa arvensis (L.) M.Bieb., Avena barbata Pott ex Link, Tragopogon porrifolius L. and various native grasses (vegetative at present)."
