Occurrence remarks A small shrub to 1.5 m tall. Most shrubs to 3 m, but older planted trees to 6 m in the gardens. Leaves dimorphic, adult leaves and juvenile leaves differing. Juvenile leaves are ovate-cordate to ovate-lanceolate, more or less dentate or serrate; adult leaves lanceolate to elliptical, entire or finely serrulate. Numerous plants from seedlings to adult plants found naturalised over a wide area throughout the European Garden section of the Gardens and throughout the Eucalyptus microcarpa woodland section. Commonly found at bases of trees and evidently spread by birds. CFA Region 15 map on p 114. AMG ref.: 525-958.
