Identification remarks I FINALLY found this [perfectly respectable person]. This has been the longest struggle for a sponge ID I've ever had. It's taken nearly 4 years. This is why color information is so important when recording new species. It just so happens the author saw one right after being dredged and described it as "of a violet purple color", though to be honest, his description is pretty good, even mentioning the distinct oscular membrane.
